Welcome to Spinningjennie.com, a collection of some of the things I have made over the past couple of years.

I am currently studying Fashion Design with Business Studies BA (hons) at University of Brighton. I see myself as an imaginative, enthusiastic 24-hour designer; I am constantly inspired by my surroundings, anything from architecture to found objects. I like working with contradictions and contrasts in shape, structure, colour and influences. I believe clothes can reflect feelings, personalities and interests. I aim to create clothes that have something to say, maybe a feeling or a story to tell. I often take inspiration from my Swedish and Sami roots, I believe it is an important skill to understand and interpret ones National Identity. I appreciate the imagination and creativity of children, I constantly look to my "inner child" whilst designing.

My interests are mainly fashion and art based such as designing; illustrating, sewing, printmaking, photography, cinema and visiting art galleries. Music is a big source of inspiration to me. I listen to a variety from pop/rock to 60's "ye-ye" sounds. I often go to gigs and I play the bass and keyboard my self in various bands. I enjoy film, directors include: Godard, Polanski and Bergman. Artists and designers I admire are Jockum Nordström, Sigmar Polke and Commes des Garcons.
